Located 100 km southwest of Florence, Maremma is home to one of Antinori's most popular estates, Guado al Tasso. The estate spans 320 hectares and is known for its soil called 'scheletro'. Its composition ranges from clayey sand to clayey loam, with rocky deposits. It is made up of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, and the remainder is Syrah, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. It underwent fermentation in tanks and barrels, followed by 8 months in French barriques and four months of bottle aging. The wine offers an intense and complex aromatic profile with notes of redcurrant, blackberry, sweet licorice, and elegant spices, along with subtle anise, tobacco, and roasted coffee. It features silky tannins, incredible complexity, and a high aging potential.
