The oldest winery in the Bordeaux Grands Crus, Château Haut-Brion has a rich heritage dating back five centuries. Founded in 1533 by Jean de Pontac in the Graves region, the wines of Château Haut-Brion were soon sought after and appreciated by Europe's greatest monarchs. The nose is fruity (red and black fruits), with spicy notes, but also liquorice and cloves can be detected over time. A broad and complex richness characterises the generous palate combining ripe fruit and cocoa beans. The finish is persistent and expressive.
