A serious Cote-Rotie that’s currently quite closed, the black fruit aromas slowly expanding in the glass and gently pushing the graphite to one side. There’s interplay of fine, generous tannins and beautifully ripe fruit. I love that the texture of the tannins switches from silky on the front palate to firmer and more velvety in the finish. Needs time for the complexity to develop. This is the first vintage of this wine, and it matured primarily in large oak foudres.
