Vosne-Romannée is where Burgundy's elite meet. Parcels and vineyards only change hands here every leap year, when the price per hectare is set in eight figures and in euros. These are the highest-value agricultural areas in the world, and Mugneret-Gibourg cultivates 8 hectares in the best locations. The village wine is typically a blend of several parcels of grapes, with berries, cold soaked for 4-5 days and then fermented for nearly 10 days. After pressing, it is aged in barrels for 18 months and bottled on site, without filtration or maceration. Founded in 1933, the estate is now in its third generation and the pinot noir is made in a fresh and fragile style. The exotic spices typical of the village are also present.
