The "mountain wine", which represents the winery's style, is made from 100% organic Grüner Veltliner. No frills, instead complex and crisp. After harvesting, half of the fruit was put into basket presses, the other half into pneumatic presses, then the wine fermented spontaneously in tanks and rested on lees until February. For four generations, it's been all about Grüner Veltliner on some 60 hectares of vineyards east of the Kremstal, Kamptal and Wachau triangle. Harvested from loess and gravel soils, Am Berg is very long and salty. It is dense on the palate and is enlivened by citrus acidity.
