The grapes, harvested by hand at the end of September from 45-year-old vines with deep roots growing in volcanic, rhyolite soil, were not put into barrels. Despite its 5.8 grams of sugar content, this single vineyard wine from a difficult vintage has a dry feel and a strongly mineral character. Slowly opening wildflower and herbal aromas, tasting of white-fleshed fruits, citrus, salt, and tingling acidity. Excellent balance.
